State Minister for Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Junaid Ahmed Palak has said that the online system 'Bondhon.gov.bd' for marriage and divorce registration will be launched soon.
The initiative comes from the ICT department. He said, once this online platform is launched, many problems including child marriages will be solved.
The state minister said this while addressing a dialogue titled 'Digital Generation, Our Generation: Role of Technology in Preventing Child Marriage and Child Labour' on the occasion of 'International Girl Child Day-2021' at Mohakhali BRAC Center Auditorium on Monday (October 11).
At the same time, he said, in order to prevent child marriages, the respect and dignity of in women society must be ensured first. No technology or project plan will be effective without a psychological change of mind.
The state minister said it is possible to bring equality in the country by eliminating discrimination against girls through sustainable technology framework through sincerity and love.
Asif Saleh, Executive Director of BRAC, President of Dialogue, emphasized on building gender equality in the use of technology. He expressed optimism that technology would be a tool to solve the problem.
