Prime Minister Tarique Rahman drew public attention after briefly halting his motorcade in the capital to exchange Eid greetings with on-duty security personnel.
The incident took place near Jahangir Gate on Saturday afternoon, the day of Eid-ul-Fitr.
According to BNP media cell sources, the prime minister was returning to his Gulshan residence after offering prayers at the National Eidgah and exchanging greetings at Jamuna when he made the stop.
He got down from his vehicle and greeted members of the army, navy and police deployed at the site, shaking hands and embracing them while also asking about their well-being.
Security personnel expressed excitement at the unexpected interaction with the head of government.
A video of the moment quickly circulated on social media, where many users praised the gesture, describing it as a rare and positive initiative.
