Judge Mst. Kamrunnhar, who passed the verdict to acquit all five accused in the rape case of two female students at Raintree hotel in the capital’s Banani will be removed from power said Law Minister Anisul Haque.
Judge Kamrunnahar passed the verdict on Thursday (Nov 11) when the five accused in the rape case were presented before the Dhaka's Women and Child Abuse Suppression Tribunal-7.
Law Minister Anisul Haque made the remark in response to a question from reporters following a meeting at the Supreme Court on Saturday (November 13th).
“I do not want to comment on the content of her verdict. All I can say is, the statement she made, that after 72 hours police should not take any statement of rape case is completely illegal and unconstitutional”, said the law minister.
"I would write a letter to the Chief Justice to take action on her performance as a judge" he added.
