President leaves for London for medical check-up
Mohammed Shahabuddin left Dhaka for London on Saturday morning for follow-up treatment and medical examinations.
A Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight carrying the president departed from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in the morning, officials said.
Several senior officials, including advisers and diplomats, were present at the airport to see him off.
Family members, doctors, nurses and officials from Bangabhaban are accompanying the president during the visit.
President Shahabuddin previously underwent heart bypass surgery in Singapore in 2023 and is now scheduled to receive follow-up care at a specialised hospital in the United Kingdom.
Officials said the president is expected to return to Bangladesh on May 18.
