Three college students were killed in a head-on collision between a Dhaka-bound BRTC bus and a autorickshaw at Kachua upazila in Chandpur district. Two others were critically injured in the accident.
The accident took place in Korouia area of the upazila around 7:00 am on Thursday (November 25).
The deceased have been identified as Urmi Majumder (24), a postgraduate student of Comilla Victoria College in Palakhal area of Kachua and Mahbub Alam (24) a resident of Kowa area, and Saddam Hossain (23), a resident of Nishchintopur area.
The injured were identified as Ibrahim (24), and Monir Hossain (35), driver of the autorichshaw.
According to the police, a BRTC bus on its way to Dhaka from Hajiganj ploughed into the autorickshaw at Kachua Highway around 7:00 am today (November 25, Thursday). Urmi Majumdar was killed on the spot. The two others died on the way to Cumilla. The injured have been admitted to Kachua Upazila Health Complex.
