Sagar-Runi murder case: Investigation report submission date delayed 97 times

The date of submission of investigation report of journalist couple Sagar Sarwar and Mehrun Runi's murder case has been postponed again. The court has set a new date for submitting the investigation report on May 22. This case's report date has been pushed back 97 times.

The deadline for submitting the case's investigation report was set for Sunday, April 9. The investigation agency RAB failed to deliver the findings, so Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Rashedul Alam set a new deadline.

After that, a murder case was filed by the deceased Runi's brother Nowsher Alam Roman in Shere Bangla Nagar police station accusing eight people.

The accused are Runi's friend Tanvir Rahman, home security guard Enam Ahmed alias Humayun Kabir, Rafiqul Islam, Bakul Mia, Mintu alias Bargira Mintu alias Masum Mintu, Kamrul Hasan Arun, Palash Rudra Pal and Abu Saeed.

After more than two months of investigation, DB failed to solve the mystery. Later on the order of the High Court, the investigation of the murder case was handed over to RAB on April, 18 of the same year.
