Following the incident of snatching two death-row convicts from police custody in Dhaka Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) court, the Supreme Court (SC) issued an order for beefing up security at all the courts across the country.
Supreme Court spokesperson Md Saifur Rahman confirmed the information.
He said, “Following the direction of the chief justice, the authorities concerned have been asked to strengthen security at all the courts across the country so that no untoward incident takes place there.”
Alleged members of banned militant outfit Ansar-al Islam whisked away Abu Siddiq Sohel and Moinul Hasan Shamim, convicted and sentenced to death in publisher Faisal Arefin Dipan murder case, by spraying some chemical on the eyes of the law enforcers.
