Security adviser Khalilur meets U.S. deputy secretary of state

Bangladesh‍‍`s National Security Advisor, Dr. Khalilur Rahman, held a meeting with U.S. Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau in Washington D.C. on Wednesday.

The two discussed key bilateral and regional issues, including the Rohingya crisis, ongoing tariff negotiations between Bangladesh and the United States, development in South Asia, and Bangladesh‍‍`s democratic transition.

According to a press release from the Chief Advisor‍‍`s Press Wing, the Deputy Secretary of State praised the leadership of Chief Advisor Professor Muhammad Yunus during what he described as a critical period for Bangladesh. He also reaffirmed the United States’ continued support for Bangladesh.

In a separate meeting, Dr. Khalilur Rahman met with U.S. Assistant Trade Representative Brendan Lynch.

The discussions focused on bilateral trade relations, and both sides held fruitful talks regarding potential agreements on tariffs.
