In a shocking incident in Bhanga Upazila, Rajbari, six young men have been arrested for allegedly raping a woman and recording the assault after luring her under the pretext of making a TikTok video.
The accused will be sent to court on Sunday.
According to police and sources close to the victim, the 20-year-old woman, from Boalmari Upazila in Faridpur, was invited by a TikTok user named Akram to Bhanga Upazila on December 31.
Akram told her that they would film a new TikTok video.
However, once she arrived, he reportedly trapped her in a house, where he sexually assaulted her after deceiving her.
Akram also filmed the attack and used the video to blackmail her.
The situation worsened when Akram, along with two other men, took the victim to a rented house in the area, claiming she was his wife.
On Friday, the victim filed a rape complaint with the police, leading to the arrest of the six suspects.
Moksedur Rahman, the Officer-in-Charge of Bhanga Police Station, confirmed that six people have been taken into custody.
He added that two rape cases and one case under the Pornography Act have been filed.
The suspects are expected to be brought to court on Sunday.
