Hasnat Abdullah, the leader of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, was involved in two separate road accidents on Thursday, November 28, while traveling back to Dhaka from Comilla.

His vehicle was hit by trucks on both occasions, raising suspicions of a possible planned attack.

The first incident took place in Matuwail, where a truck crashed into the vehicle carrying Hasanat and his team before speeding away.

Just a short time later, the vehicle was struck again, this time by a mini-truck in Gulistan, causing additional damage.

Although Hasnat was physically unharmed, he suspects that these accidents were not accidents at all but were part of a targeted assault.

Earlier that same day, at around 7:30 PM, Hasanat was returning from visiting the grave of Advocate Saiful Islam Alif when a truck ran into a private car in his convoy.

This collision took place at Haji Road in Chunti Union, located on the Chittagong-Cox’s Bazar highway. The front of the car was severely damaged in the crash.

Authorities quickly captured the truck involved in the accident, arresting the driver, 40-year-old Mujibur Rahman from Boiar village in Mymensingh’s Trishal district.

Later that night, members of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, along with the National Citizens’ Committee, organized a protest at Dhaka University.

They raised serious concerns, calling the incidents an attempt on Hasnat Abdullah’s life.
