Taimur Alam Khandakar, the former convener of BNP's Narayanganj district unit has been expelled from the party.
Taimur recently contested in the Narayanganj City Corporation (NCC) mayoral election in defiance of the party decision.
Along with him, the party also expelled ATM Kamal, general secretary of Narayanganj metropolitan BNP. Both of them have been stripped of the party's primary membership.
On Tuesday night, two separate letters signed by BNP senior joint secretary general Rahul Kabir Rizvi announced their expulsion.
The letters stated that, in accordance with BNP's constitution, Taimur and Kamal both were expelled from all positions, including primary membership, for violating party discipline.
