A double-decker bus operated by the Bangladesh Road Transport Corporation (BRTC) crashed into a pillar beneath the elevated expressway ramp in Dhaka’s Farmgate area today, injuring one person.
The accident occurred around 11:30 AM on Tuesday. According to police, the upper section of the bus was severely damaged as it struck the structure while trying to pass under the ramp.
Anish Kirtaniya, Assistant Commissioner (Traffic) of Tejgaon Division, confirmed the incident to Prothom Alo, stating, “The bus hit the ramp of the elevated expressway.”
Multiple videos showing the bus partially wedged under the ramp and damaged after hitting a pillar have since gone viral on social media platforms.
Police said one person sustained minor injuries in the crash.
