A devastating accident on the Udaipur border area in Rangamati`s Sajek upazila has taken the lives of at least six individuals, leaving several others injured.
The incident unfolded around 6:00 pm today. As of now, the identities of the deceased remain unknown.
Debashish Roy, the officer-in-charge of Sajek Police Station, expressed, "We received reports from locals indicating six fatalities in the accident. A police team is en route to the scene to investigate further."
According to Atulal Chakma, chairman of Sajek Union Parishad, the truck involved was carrying 17 workers. Tragically, six lost their lives at the scene, while the remaining individuals sustained injuries.
Shirin Akhter, the UNO, also confirmed the devastating loss of six workers in the tragic incident.
The victims, engaged in vital road construction work along the border, were contributing to the region`s infrastructure development, as highlighted by Mir Abu Tawheed, superintendent of Rangamati police.
