Since Tuesday, at least 12 flights from Dhaka Airport to the United Arab Emirates have been canceled because of unusually heavy rainfall.

Twelve flights operated by EK, Air Arabia, and flydubai to the United Arab Emirates have been canceled thus far, confirmed Group Captain Kamrul Islam, Executive Director of Dhaka Airport.

"At this time, only passengers headed for Dubai will be accommodated until 1am tomorrow (Saturday)," he continued. However, because to the uncertainty surrounding the status of their subsequent flights, transit passengers will not be accommodated for a while."

Additionally, he said that airlines notify customers of delays or cancellations so they may easily rebook or get their money back.

An Air Arabia Dhaka Airport official that five flights had been canceled. Emirates kept accepting transit passengers despite canceling three of its scheduled flights. Flydubai, meanwhile, canceled two flights.

Director of Shah Amanat International Airport in Chittagong, Group Captain Taslim Ahmed, stated on Thursday that "four flights from Dubai were cancelled two days ago, but flydubai is currently operating normally."

A flydubai flight from Dubai and another Air Arabia flight from Dubai were also canceled on the first day. An Air Arabia flight from Sharjah was also canceled.
