The government has decided to reopen public primary schools in the country from Sunday after a sudden closure amid the quota protests across the country.

However, the primary schools in 12 city corporations of the country and in municipalities of Narsingdi will remain closed for the time being, says a press release of the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education.

This decision was taken in a meeting today (31 July).

Children Welfare Primary Schools run by Children Welfare Trust and learning centres under Non-formal Education Bureau will open, according to the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education.

Earlier, on 17 July, the government closed all the government primary schools.
