The aviation service of the United States of America disrupted by blizzard. Some 1,640 flights canceled in one day which is expected to continue on Thursday as well.
The number included international flights as well. As a result airports were crowded with people due to last-minute flight cancellations.
Local airline SkyWest canceled more than 350 flights. This SkyWest works in partnership with international companies like United, Delta, American, Alaska Airlines. The airlines were also forced to cancel one flight after another due to the snow storm. About 5,000 planes` departure delayed.
The worst-hit are airports in Minneapolis, Denver and Detroit. Services at these airports have come to a standstill. Those who came to catch the plane, are stuck.
The situation at Toronto airport is also dire. One flight after another is being canceled to Chicago. In fact, flights on Thursday after Wednesday also started getting cancelled. It has been informed on Wednesday afternoon that 400 flights on Thursday have been cancelled. The number of canceled flights is expected to increase as the days go by.
In all, weather warnings have been issued at 12 airports in America. Nothing has been said clearly about when this situation will end.
