Israel confirms one dead, nine injured in south Lebanon fighting

An Israeli soldier was killed and nine others were injured during clashes in southern Lebanon, the Israeli military said.

According to the military, the soldier died in combat operations in the area. 

Among the wounded, one is in critical condition, four are in moderate condition, and the rest suffered minor injuries.

The incident comes as fighting continues along the Lebanon border, where tensions have remained high in recent weeks amid ongoing exchanges of fire.

Separately, AFP reported that at least 15 Israeli soldiers have been killed in Lebanon over the past six weeks.

The latest casualties highlight the continuing volatility in the border region, with no immediate sign of de-escalation.
