A fire that erupted at Korail slum in Dhaka on Tuesday has now been successfully contained. The blaze began around 12:53 pm local time.
Upon receiving the alert, six units from the Fire Service and Civil Defence rushed to the spot.
According to Shahjahan Sikder, Deputy Assistant Director of the agency headquarters media cell, they managed to bring the fire under control by approximately 1:40 pm.
The cause of the fire and the extent of the damage are yet to be determined, as immediate details were not available, added Sikder.
