The runway of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka, country’s largest of its kind, will be closed for five hours each night till next two months.
New schedule will be implemented from Thursday (February 2) for renovation of the runway lighting system, according to media reports.
Kamrul Islam, executive director of the airport told the flight operations in the Bangladesh’s largest airport will be closed 2:00am to 7:00am in each day till April 2.
Flights of different airlines have been shifted and coordinated to other times of the day, he added.
Seven to eight flights typically run in this time, so moving those flights would add as burden for airport authorities despite having so many.
