Three people were killed, and two others were injured after a launch, named Swarnadip hit a bridge in Shariatpur’s Gosairhat upazila.
The incident took place at around 4.30 am on Sunday on Jayanti River on its way to Damudya in Shariatpur from Dhaka.
The water tank on the third floor of the launch fell on the passengers, leaving three dead on the spot, the police confirmed.
The deceased are Tanjil, Sagar Ali, and Shakil Ahmed. The deceased were taken to upazila health complex.
