Anti-Corruption Commision (ACC) has conducted a drive at the Cox's Bazar District Jail on basis of some allegations.
ACC received an allegation that the District Superintendent of Cox's Bazar is providing accommodation to the healthy inmates in the hospital in exchange for money.
According to the allegation, he is renting government mobile phones for TK 80000 for per day and is collecting TK 25 lakh monthly from the canteen.
A team led by ACC's Mohammad Riaz Uddin conducted enforcement operations while deputy assistant director of the office Tapsir Billah was present on the occasion.
During the operation, the prison hospital and the canteen of the prison were inspected on the spot.
In addition, various records have been collected by reviewing various records including the registrar of the prison hospital, the registrar of income and expenditure of the canteen, the registrar of mobile usage.
