Restrictions related to COVID-19 have been lifted at all international and domestic airports of the country, including Dhaka`s Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.
This was informed in a notice issued by Air Commodore Shah Kawsar Ahmed Chowdhury, a member of the Flight Standards and Regulations Department of Civil Aviation Authority (CAAB) on Thursday.
According to the notice, no passenger will be required to show the COVID vaccination certificate while entering and leaving Bangladesh until further instructions. No passenger is required to complete an RT-PCR test or health declaration form. Mask-wearing restrictions were also dropped off for everyone.
Civil Aviation Authority also said that even if the mask restrictions are lifted for the general public, those who work in sensitive areas such as hospitals or clinics will have to wear masks. There is no restriction on the number of passengers carried by large or small airlines. However, passengers must follow the health restrictions of the countries they visit.
Hajj pilgrims have been told to follow Saudi Arabia`s health restrictions. Everyone should stay away from camels due to the risk of contracting the Mars virus.
