The Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP) has implemented strict security measures for the upcoming rally of the ruling Awami League on December 4 in the Port City, where Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is expected to be the cheif guest.
According to CMP Commissioner Krishnapad Roy, who visited the rally site at Railway Polo Ground, three levels of security will be set up there.
The CMP commissioner said, “We are on high alert marking the PM’s rally in the city.”
On March 28, 2012, at the same location, PM Hasina gave her last speech at an AL rally in the Port City.
Over 7,500 police officers will be deployed throughout the city. 6,000 of them will be in charge of maintaining order throughout Chattogram, including the polo field.
Awami League leaders are expecting that about 10 lakh people will join the rally.
