A prisoner of Chittagong Central Jail died at Chattogram Medical College Hospital while undergoing treatment early on Sunday, reports The Daily Star.
The deceased was identified as Kaisang Marma (56) of Chandraghona of Rangamati. He was an accused of a drug case. He died at around 1:15am, said CMCH police outpost sources.
Dewan Md Tariqul Islam, jailer of Chattogram Jail, said that Kaisang fell sick inside jail on April 19 and was rushed to the prison hospital. Later he was shifted to CMCH and given treatment.
His body was sent to CMCH morgue for autopsy.
