Due to the approaching Cyclone Mocha, the government today postponed Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and equivalent examinations scheduled for Monday (May 15) under six education boards: Chattogram, Cumilla, Barishal, Jashore, technical, and madrasa education boards.
The decision was made today and announced by Prof. Tapan Kumar Sarkar, head of the inter-education board coordination committee. He also said the exams for the Jashore education board scheduled for May 14 will also be postponed.
The authorities had previously postponed SSC and equivalent exams for five educational boards—Chattogram, Cumilla, Barishal, technical, and madrasa education boards—that were scheduled for May 14.
The upcoming exam date will be announced later, according to Tapan, who is also the chairman of the Dhaka Education Board.
"We will continue the exams in the other boards as each board has separate question papers," he said.
On May 15, students from general education boards will be required to take home economics, agricultural studies, Arabic, Sanskrit, and other subjects. There are no madrasa or technical board exams scheduled for that day.
On May 14, students from the general education board were set to take physics, history, and finance exams. Technical students were scheduled to take the physics exam, while madrasa students were scheduled to take the English first paper exam.
