Workers of tea gardens have withdrawn their strike and decided to return to their jobs with their earlier daily wage of Tk 120.
They have also announced that they will accept any decision of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in this regard.
Tea garden workers and their leaders held a meeting at the office of Moulvibazar Deputy Commissioner on Monday midnight. At the meeting, they decided to withdraw their strike and return to their jobs.
Moulvibazar Deputy Commissioner Mir Nahid Ahsan said workers of tea gardens have withdrawn their strike and decided to return to their jobs.
Acting General Secretary of Bangladesh Cha Sramik Union (BCSU) Nripen Pal said the Prime Minister is our guardian and we will accept any decision of her in this regard.
Workers of tea gardens enforced an indefinite strike, demanding an increase in their daily wages from Tk 120 to Tk 300.
Programmes like human chain, protest meetings and processions continued inside the gardens.
