Truck driver captured over road accident in Mymensingh's Trishal

Members of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) have captured the truck driver responsible for the accident that led to the death of three of a family, including a pregnant woman.

The arrestee was identified as Raju Ahmed Shipon and he was held from Dhaka's Savar on Monday night.

Khandaker Al Moin, Rab's media wing director, confirmed the news.

He said Rab will hold a press briefing in this regard on Tuesday at Rab Media Centre.

The family members were hit by Raju's truck on Dhaka-Mymensingh highway at Trishal on July 16.

In a tragic event, an eight-months-pregnant woman gave birth to a baby girl, before succumbing to her injuries.

Two others – the woman's husband and daughter – were also dead in the accident.

The newborn, however, survived miraculously. However, it has been shifted to the NICU as its condition deteriorated on Monday.
