A total of 263 more undocumented Bangladeshi migrants, who were detained at a detention centre in the Libyan capital of Tripoli, will be repatriated to Bangladesh on December 5.
“Repatriation process of Bangladeshis who have been stranded in Libya is underway with the effort of Bangladesh foreign ministry and its mission in Tripoli with the financial support of IOM,” said foreign ministry’s alternative spokesperson Mohammad Rafiqul Alam at a briefing here today.
Earlier, 143 and 110 Bangladeshi nationals returned here from Libya on November 28 and 30 respectively under the same process by chartered flight of Buraq Air.
The Bangladeshi undocumented migrants were detained at the Ainjera detention centre in Tripoli.
On behalf of the IOM, each one got Taka 5,896 as pocket money and food items.
The efforts of the foreign ministry to repatriate irregular Bangladeshi from Libya will be continued, Alam said.
