Non-profit organisation AidmeUK has lent its helping hand to the refugees living in a miserable condition in the UK.
The organisation has been providing such destitute refugees with daily essentials and food, says a press release.
With the slogan “Uniting For A Better Community”, AidmeUK is currently carrying out several programmes for the humanitarian cause.
As part of its humanitarian activities, the organisation distributed food and daily essentials among 200 refugee families at York Mosque and Islamic Centre on Thursday.
At an event marking the distributions, the organisation’s office-bearers and local business leaders from the Bangladeshi community said that many refugees are leading a miserable life in the UK.
So, keeping this in mind, AidmeUK extended its helping hand towards them, they said.
Lauding the great initiative, the speakers said that the organisation has been continuing several humanitarian programmes while creating awareness on many crucial topics.
They wished for the prosperity of the aid group.
Distinguished individuals from the Bangladeshi community in York, too, attended the event.
AidmeUK Adviser Khalequzzaman, CEO Maqsud Rahman, Finance Director Dewan Sayef Ahmed, Project and Planning Director Zihan Ahmed Chowdhury, Head of Communications Reaz Chowdhury, Head of Events Anamu Haq Kayes, Head of Volunteers Service Abdus Shahid and Event Planner Mohammad Tajim Ullah and renowned businessmen Akhlaquzzaman Harun, Rakib Ali, Mahtab Shamim and Faruq Miah, among others, were in the attendance.
