If you have the courage, come

BNP Standing Committee Member Salahuddin Ahmed today said that no undemocratic agitation would be allowed on the streets for the interest of democracy.

He made the remarks at a discussion in the city organised by Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) marking the historic ‘National Revolution and Solidarity Day’ at Diploma Engineers Institution in the city’s Kakrail area.

Urging the government to take necessary measures to hold a fair and impartial election, Salahuddin Ahmed said, “If the Chief Adviser calls us to discuss any issue, we are interested in discussions and will go.”

Stating that BNP maintains contact with all political parties, he said, “We are in touch with all political parties. As part of democratic culture, we will maintain political contact, discussions and relations with everyone.”

Regarding the ‘lockdown’ programme announced by Awami League in Bangladesh on November 13, Salahuddin Ahmed said the date of a verdict is going to be announced against Sheikh Hasina at the International Crimes Tribunal. On that day, Awami League called for nationwide lockdown.

“How did you think that people of Bangladesh would respond to your call? If you have the courage, come. We will see how the people of Bangladesh will welcome you. We want you to come and face justice,” he added.

With JCD President Md. Rakibul Islam Rakib in the chair, its General Secretary Nasir Uddin conducted the meeting.
