BNP’s Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman shared his thoughts on the possibility of a new political party being formed in Bangladesh.

While he welcomed the idea of a new political party, he warned that if it were backed by the government, it would only disappoint the people.

Tarique Rahman made these remarks on Saturday, January 25, during the National Teachers’ Day event and Teachers’ Conference. Speaking to the attendees, he said,

"Criticizing other political parties, making revengeful statements, and engaging in unnecessary arguments will only hurt the people. These types of debates waste valuable time. We need young people to leave behind the past and move forward on a clear and honest path."

He also pointed out that elections are a powerful tool to empower the public politically, saying, "Debating over elections only strengthens the position of fascists."

Addressing BNP supporters, Tarique Rahman urged them to remain vigilant and not allow anyone to create controversy around their actions.

Speaking directly to the teachers, he acknowledged their remarks on important initiatives taken by BNP, such as Begum Khaleda Zia’s decision to make primary education mandatory.

He also praised the discussions on various steps taken during BNP’s time in government and current political matters.

"I don’t want to revisit these issues, but one thing is clear: to survive in global competition, we must build a knowledge-based state," he concluded.
