The ruling party can increase confidence in elections among other parties by avoiding politically motivated arrests, detentions, and legal proceedings, according to UK Indo-Pacific Minister Anne-Marie Trevelyan.
On Sunday, March 12, she came up with this remark while attending as the keynote speaker at a conference at the Foreign Service Academy in Dhaka under the event titled "Bangladesh-UK Partnership in the Context of Indo-Pacific".
She advised the political parties to try to communicate with one another and refrain from using violence.
The UK minister, after mentioning the importance of credible elections, welcomed Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for her commitment to hold a fair election.
