Vinícius Júnior scored twice as Brazil defeated Scotland 3–0 in their final group-stage match, securing top spot in the group and a place in the knockout stage under head coach Carlo Ancelotti.

The Brazilian forward had already found the net in the first two group matches and once again delivered a decisive performance.

Brazil took an early lead in the 8th minute when young winger Ryan pressed Scotland centre-back Scott McKenna into an error. Under pressure, McKenna’s first touch was loose, allowing Vinícius to pounce, round goalkeeper Angus Gunn, and calmly finish.

Vinícius thought he had doubled Brazil’s lead in the 25th minute, but his goal was disallowed after a VAR review ruled a foul in the buildup.

He made no mistake in first-half stoppage time, however, heading in from a cross by Bruno Guimarães to make it 2–0. It was his fourth goal of the tournament.

Brazil extended their lead in the 60th minute when Matheus Cunha finished a well-worked move, assisted again by Bruno Guimarães.

In the 75th minute, Neymar came on as a substitute, making his return to the national team after 981 days to a strong reception.

No further goals were scored, and Brazil closed out a 3–0 victory. The result confirmed them as Group C winners, finishing level on seven points with Morocco but topping the group on goal difference.
