FIFA imposes two-year ban on Bangladesh Football Federation GS Abu Nayeem Shohag

Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) General Secretary Abu Nayeem Shohag, has received a sanction from FIFA‍‍`s adjudicatory chamber of the independent Ethics Committee.

The information was revealed by FIFA through a media statement on Friday. 

A two-year suspension from all football-related activities and a fine of about BDT 12 lakh (CHF 10,000) have been imposed on Shohag for having used false and/or forged documentation to justify payments made by the BFF with FIFA funds.

Shohag violated articles 13 (General duties), 15 (Duty of loyalty), and 24 (Forgery and falsification) of the FIFA Code of Ethics, 2020 edition, according to FIFA‍‍`s investigations.

Abu Nayeem Shohag could not be reached over phone for a comment in this regard.

BFF President Kazi Salauddin told the media that he was yet to get the order in hand. As soon as he would attend his office on the the next working day he then notify the media about BFF‍‍`s next step, adding that "If FIFA wants to keep him under suspension then we will follow that."
