Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defense Forces are starting operation to keep the rail, road and sea communication uninterrupted during the 48-hour blockade called by BNP-Jamaat. 65 thousand Ansar and VDP members have been deployed across the country from Sunday.
Earlier, Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defense Force Deputy Director (Project-Training), Md. Zahidul Islam informed this to the media on Saturday night.
He said that from Sunday 6 am to Monday 6 am, forces will be deployed to protect the security of railway stations, bus stands, launch ghats, public and other important public places.
He also said that general Ansar and VDP members will keep a watchful eye on railway stations, bus stands and launch ghats to ensure that no untoward incident takes place, especially on railway lines. 10,000 Ansar-VDP members are being deployed at 1,476 points across the country to protect railway lines.
Apart from this, 55,000 members of Ansar engaged in the security of 5,296 different public and private institutions will perform their duties in the surrounding areas besides ensuring the security of their own responsible institutions.
