A college student died after being hit by a train in Uttara's Azampur area of the capital. The deceased Ahmed Sani Hanif (18) was a second year student of Nawab Habibullah Model School and College.
The accident took place on Sunday (March, 26) around 5 am on the railway line near Azampur Farid Market.
Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) of Airport of Dhaka Railway Police Station Sanu Mong Marma confirmed the incident and said that Sunny died after being run over by an unidentified train while crossing Azampur railway gate carelessly in the morning. After receiving the news, the body was recovered around 8 am and sent to the morgue of Dhaka Medical College Hospital for autopsy.
Abul Bashar, father of Sunny said that after having Sehri he went out of home to attend Fajr prayers. Hanif was hit by a train while crossing the railway line while going to pray at the local mosque. Later, he was informed by the police and found his body.
He also said that their house is in Birai village of Pagla upazila of Mymensingh. Currently they live in Dakshinkhan in East Mollartek area. Sunny was the eldest of a son and two daughters.
