Basundhara MD Anvir’s wife, offspring, family members leave country

Wife, children and several family members of Sayem Sobhan Anvir, the only accused in a case of inciting Mosarat Jahan (Munia) to commit suicide, have left the country. Anvir’s family members left the country three days after the case was filed.

Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB) confirmed the matter on Thursday (April 29) night.

“On Wednesday a special flight was permitted. They are supposed to leave the country today,” said CAAB Chairman Air Vice Marshal M Mafidur Rahman.

The flight took off Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka this afternoon and will land on Al Maktoum International Airport in Dubai.

There were eight family members of the accused Anvir on board the chartered flight.

According to the passenger list, Sabrina Sobhan, wife of Sayem Sobhan Anvir and their two children, Yasha Sobhan, wife of younger brother Safwan Sobhan and their daughter and three housemaids Diana Hernandez Chakanando, Mohammad Quader Mir and Hosne Ara Khatun were in the flight.

Earlier, Sayem Sobhan Anvir's younger brother Safwan Sobhan also left the country.

A Dhaka court on Tuesday (April 27) imposed a travel ban on Sayem Sobhan Anvir as police sought the sanction after the case was filed on Monday (April 26). However, people whisper that Anvir already left the country.

According to the data base of immigration authorities, Sayem Sobhan Anvir is still in the country, said Deputy Commissioner of Gulshan Division Sudip Kumar Chakraborty on Thursday.

Anvir uses two passports. There is no information of emigration using any of them, Sudip furthered.
