Lieutenant General (Retd.) Md. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury, the Home Affairs Advisor of the interim administration, has announced that anyone trying to disrupt peace in the country will be arrested under the ongoing `Operation Devil Hunt.`
The Home Advisor made these comments during an event held at the Soil Resources Development Institute in Khamarbari, Dhaka, on Sunday, February 9.
He confirmed that several people involved in the recent attacks on students in Gazipur have already been taken into custody, and authorities are continuing efforts to apprehend those still on the run.
The Advisor made it clear that the operation will continue as long as necessary, stating,
“The operation will go on until the ‘Devil’ is eradicated from the country."
In response to a question about the recent vandalism of a farmer`s statue in Sunamganj, the Home Affairs Advisor noted that he was not aware of the incident at the time, but assured that those responsible would be identified and brought to justice.
As the operation continues, the government seems determined to maintain stability, with a focus on preventing further unrest and making it clear that anyone found disturbing the peace will face legal consequences.
