Due to reckless speed of the driver, the bus broke the railing of the Bangabandhu expressway at Shibchar in Madaripur and fell into the ditch. At this time, 19 passengers lost their lives.
Superintendent of Police, Masud Alam said that in the morning a bus of Imad Paribahan was going to Dhaka from Gopalganj. The bus lost control and plunged into the ditch at Kutubpur area of Shibchar on the Bangabandhu Expressway before Padma Bridge. At that time, the bus overturned and 15 passengers including the bus driver died on the spot. Later, two more passengers died on the way to the hospital. Another two people announced dead later on. 25 people were injured in this accident. They were rescued and admitted to different hospitals in Shibchar and Dhaka.

SP Alam also said that reckless speed of the bus driver is responsible for this accident. The fire service and police are working at the scene to remove the bus that was involved in the accident. Proper action will be taken after investigation in this regard.
