Former Chhatra Dal leader found murdered with throat slit in home

In Kamalganj, Moulvibazar, the throat-slitted body of a former Chhatra Dal leader was discovered in his own home, with police suspecting homicide. The victim’s family members are unable to suggest any motive.

The body of 28-year-old Rafi Ahmed was found Saturday morning in his residence in Siddheshwarpur village of Rahimpur Union.

Rafi Ahmed was the former president of Rahimpur Union Chhatra Dal. He was the nephew of Abdul Jabbar, former general secretary of the Moulvibazar Business Association, and son of Chottar Mia.

According to family sources, when Rafi did not wake up in the morning, relatives checked on him and found his bloodied body lying on the bed.

Nahid Ahmed Tarafdar, chairman of Moulvibazar Union Parishad, confirmed the incident and said authorities are investigating the cause of the killing.

Shamim Akanji, investigator of Kamalganj Police Station, said the police arrived at the scene after receiving the report.
