The Hindu community in Bangladesh observed the Saraswati Puja with utmost religious fervour on Saturday.
Idols of the goddess of education. learning, music and wisdom was adorned with flowers of the season, as followers bowed their heads seeking a world free of the pandemic.
With the Saraswati Puja, the Hindu community also welcomed the first day of spring. Many devotees and other visitors at the makeshift Puja temples were seen flouting in yellow sharees and panjabis.
In the capital, Saraswati Puja has been a tradition at Dhakeswari Temple, Siddheswari Temple, Ram-Krishna Mission, Ramna Kali Manir, the Supreme Court premises, Jagannath Hall of Dhaka University, Dhaka College, Eden Girls' College and Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET).
