The government is going to import hydro-electricity from Bhutan, and in this process India will facilitate the required support, after a meeting with the Bhutanese king Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck, Foreign Minister Dr. Hasan Mahmud said on Monday.
Dr. Mahmud also informed that the dialogue with the Indian counterpart is ongoing.
He also asserted the government`s plan to provide land to the Bhutan government to establish an economic zone in the borderline district Kurigram.
“To enhance the people to people contact, I commenced their re-joining in the BBIN forum on the agenda, and the King has paid attention,” He said.
“In addition to that, the air connectivity with Bhutan will be increased in forthcoming days,” He added.
