A new fare has been proposed to lift the ongoing nationwide indefinite strike which was declared in protest of the fuel oil price hike.
The proposal was placed during a meeting between Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) and the Transport Owners Association held at the former’s office on Sunday (November 7).
The BRTA recommended Taka 1.82 of long-route buses and Taka 2.10 for city buses in each kilometer. The meeting is underway. Details will be disclosed after the meeting ends.
“We did not press any demand. Fare will be fixed based on the entire expenditure,” said bus owners association president Khandaker Enayet Ullah.
