CA Yunus visits Dhakeshwari temple ahead of Durga Puja

Chief Adviser of the interim government, Professor Dr Muhammad Yunus, on Tuesday (16 September) visited Dhakeshwari National Temple in Dhaka to exchange greetings with members of the Hindu community on the occasion of the upcoming Sharadiya Durga Puja.

After touring the temple in the morning, the Chief Adviser joined a reception and exchanged greetings with Sanatan Hindu devotees.

On Monday evening, leaders of various Puja Celebration Committees met him at the state guest house Jamuna and invited him to visit puja mandaps across the country during the festival.

Speaking at the temple, Dr Yunus said he had long wished to meet the community more frequently, but such opportunities usually came only during Durga Puja once a year.

He also enquired about preparations and overall arrangements for this year’s festival. Hindu community leaders informed him that the number of Puja mandaps across the country has increased by more than 1,000 compared to last year, with preparations now in full swing.

They expressed gratitude to the interim government, particularly the adviser and secretary of the Ministry of Religious Affairs, for extending full cooperation to ensure a smooth celebration of Durga Puja this year.
