Health Minister Zahid Maleque said the government will take measures to vaccinate children under the age of 12 once the World Health Organization (WHO) approves.

He made the remark on Tuesday while speaking to the media about the upcoming mega inoculation drive starting February 26.

The minister said that as the schools have resumed in-person classes, primary school students will soon be included in the vaccination campaign.

"We are aiming at having 70 percent of the population vaccinated at the mega inoculation drive. After that, we will intensify activities for the second and booster dose," he added.
