A total of 25 newly appointed additional judges of the High Court Division of the Supreme Court will take oath today (Tuesday).
The oath-taking ceremony will be held at 1:30 pm at the Judges’ Lounge of the Supreme Court, where Chief Justice will administer the oath.
The appointments were made by the President earlier, and the Ministry of Law issued a gazette notification on Monday confirming the decision. According to the notification, the appointments will be effective for two years from the date of oath.
The newly appointed judges are: Supreme Court lawyer Md. Anwarul Islam (Shahin); Additional Secretary of the Law Ministry Md. Saiful Islam; Chattogram District and Sessions Judge Md. Nurul Islam; Secretary of the Law Ministry Sheikh Abu Taher; Registrar General of the Supreme Court Aziz Ahmed Bhuiyan; SC lawyer Rajiuddin Ahmed; SC lawyer Faisal Hasan Arif; Joint Secretary of the Law Ministry S. M. Saiful Islam; SC lawyer Md. Asif Hasan; SC lawyer Md. Ziaul Haque; Deputy Attorney General Dihidar Masum Kabir; Habiganj District and Sessions Judge Jesmin Ara Begum; Secretary of the Bangladesh Judicial Service Commission Murad-e-Mawla Sohel; Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge Md.
