A committee that was set up to prepare a white paper on the country`s economic situation has submitted its final report to the Chief Adviser.
The report was handed over on Sunday afternoon (December 1) by the committee led by economist Dr. Debapriya Bhattacharya.
The committee was formed to investigate economic irregularities and corruption. According to the Chief Adviser’s press wing, the report has now been officially submitted.
The full report will be made public on Monday (December 2).
Dr. Debapriya Bhattacharya, the head of the committee, will share the findings of the report in a press conference on that day.
The press conference will take place at 11 a.m. at the NEC meeting room in the Bangladesh Planning Commission office in Agargaon, Dhaka.
Sources have revealed that the report includes 24 chapters detailing various corruption issues. Along with outlining instances of irregularities, it also features an introduction, conclusion, and appendices.
It’s important to mention that after the political changes on August 5, an interim government formed a 12-member committee led by Dr. Debapriya Bhattacharya, a senior economist and fellow at the Center for Policy Dialogue (CPD).
This committee was tasked with preparing a white paper to assess the damage to the economy and review the current situation.
