Eid-ul-Azha 2025: Key congregation times across Bangladesh

Bangladesh is set to observe Eid-ul-Azha with thousands of congregational prayers across the country, beginning early Saturday morning.

The main congregation in Dhaka will take place at the National Eidgah Maidan adjacent to the High Court at 7:30 AM. Chief Adviser Dr. Muhammad Yunus, members of the advisory council, Supreme Court justices, politicians, and citizens from all walks of life are expected to attend.

Mufti Mohammad Abdul Malek, Khatib of Baitul Mukarram National Mosque, will lead the prayer at the National Eidgah, which can accommodate up to 35,000 worshippers.

Dhaka South City Corporation has completed all necessary preparations. In case of inclement weather, the main congregation will be held at Baitul Mukarram at 8:00 AM.

To ensure safety, the administration has imposed strict security measures. Attendees have been advised not to bring water bottles, mats, or electronic devices that may be considered security threats.

The Islamic Foundation has confirmed five Eid congregations at Baitul Mukarram: 7:00 AM, 8:00 AM, 9:00 AM, 10:00 AM, and 10:45 AM.

Kishoreganj:

The country’s largest Eid congregation will take place at Sholakia Eidgah at 9:00 AM, led by Maulana Abul Khair Md. Saifullah. Special trains named ‘Sholakia Special’ will operate for the convenience of pilgrims.

Dhaka University:

Central Mosque congregations at 7:30 AM and 8:30 AM. Additional prayers will be held at Salimullah Muslim Hall Mosque at 7:00 AM, Shahidullah Hall Lawn and Fazlul Huq Hall ground at 8:00 AM.

Chattogram:

The main congregation will be at Jamiatul Falah National Mosque premises at 7:30 AM, led by Khatib Syed Alauddin Abu Taleb Mohammad Alauddin Al Qaderi. A second prayer will follow at 8:30 AM. Additional prayers will be held at city corporation mosques and MA Aziz Stadium Gymnasium Ground at 8:00 AM.

Rajshahi:

Main Eid prayer at Shah Mukhdum Central Eidgah at 7:30 AM. If weather is unfavorable, the backup venue is Shah Mukhdum Dargah Jame Mosque at 8:00 AM.

Khulna:

Main congregation at Circuit House Ground at 7:30 AM. If it rains, prayers will be held at Khulna Town Jame Mosque at the same time, with additional congregations at 8:30 AM and 10:00 AM.

Barishal:

Main prayer at Hemayet Uddin Eidgah Ground on Band Road at 7:30 AM. Other significant prayers will take place at Guthiya Baitul Aman Mosque (8:00 AM), Chormonai Darbar Sharif (9:00 AM), and several other city mosques.

Sylhet:

Shahi Eidgah will host the main congregation at 8:00 AM. Additional congregations at Bandar Bazar’s Kudrat Ullah Mosque (7:00 AM, 8:00 AM, 9:00 AM), and Alia Madrasa field at 7:30 AM.

Rangpur:

Main prayer at Collectorate Eidgah at 8:00 AM. In case of rain, Model Mosque and Islamic Cultural Center will host prayers at 8:30 AM and 9:00 AM. Thousands of local mosques and Eidgahs will also host prayers at various times throughout the district.

Mymensingh:

Anjuman Eidgah will hold main prayers at 7:30 AM and 8:30 AM. Other notable venues include Madani Noor Markaz Mosque (7:00 AM and 8:30 AM), Bakribi Eidgah (8:00 AM), and Char Shosha and Bidyaganj Eidgahs (9:00 AM and 8:30 AM respectively).
