Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has said fuel rationing imposed for vehicles of police and other emergency service agencies has already been lifted to ensure normal law and order and smooth public movement.

He was speaking in Parliament today, responding to a point of order raised by Cumilla-6 lawmaker Monirul Haque Chowdhury.

According to the prime minister, the decision was implemented two days ago to maintain stability in the law and order situation and ensure uninterrupted mobility for citizens.

Earlier, the MP alleged that police had reduced night patrols citing fuel rationing, leading to an increase in criminal activities and posing risks to public safety.

He also referred to the killing of a customs official in Cumilla.

Responding to the concern, the prime minister said, "The honourable member has raised a concern, and we have already addressed the matter. The embargo that was in place on police and other emergency services, such as police, ambulances, and the fire service, has been lifted."

"We took this decision two days ago and have clarified the matter. Hopefully, this problem will no longer persist," he added.
