Dr. Salehuddin Ahmed, the country‍‍`s economic adviser, has revealed that the government is confident about recovering several hundred million dollars that were illegally transferred abroad by the end of this year.

He shared this information during a press briefing on Tuesday morning, following a meeting of the Procurement Advisory Committee at the Secretariat.

The adviser explained that in order to retrieve the embezzled funds, certain legal steps must be taken.

For this purpose, the interim government is planning to introduce a special law, which will soon be issued as an ordinance.

Dr. Salehuddin Ahmed emphasized that this legal framework will play a crucial role in the recovery process.

He further mentioned that the government has been in discussions with nearly 200 legal institutions in relation to the repatriation.

The government is planning to sign agreements with about 30 of these institutions to facilitate the return of the funds.

Dr. Salehuddin Ahmed also indicated that the country can expect visible progress on this matter in the coming month, as the necessary steps are set to move forward.

This news signals a major step in the government‍‍`s efforts to reclaim funds that were illicitly taken out of the country, and citizens will be closely watching the developments in the coming weeks.
